One thing is certainly true of the new PS3 games due out in the next 6-9 months and that is...they are some of the most beautiful games to ever grace a home console.
In my opinion, these games alone, show what IS in fact capable with the PS3 and there is starting to appear a gulf in, at the very least visuals from these games and any other home console games on the market or due on the market in the next year.
