Forums - Microsoft - Now Microsoft has won E3, will they get a Sony-like boost?

The only thing they showed which we knew nothing about was a multiplatform game that will likely come out in 2010. There will be no boost dew to this. The price cut will help though.

Sony fanboys cant believe that MS won E3 . The announcement of FF13 is all the money, nothing can beat it...

@eliasg,

When u have the most amazing price drop offer in history on ur side
(premium 268 euros, arcade + 3 AAA title 200 euros while PS3 is 400 euros)

and on the same time the most expected game of this generation (GTA4+DLC)

and u can't outsold the competition (PS3 > Xbox360)

u understand, nothing can save you, even E3 ...

Time to Work !

Well they could sure use it.

lulz.

I'm not arguing this point again.

Last year it was clear that Sony won, this year, it's not too clear that MS won. I mean, the Haloboys are saying it, but more people are saying that Sony had a good E3 this year.

Microsofts presser was very poorly paced, and exceedingly boring (B-Movie game? The girl that sung lips? (cringe), and the overall lack of excitement). Again, I'm not trying to argue which one is better, but the fact that you'd make a thread on such an opinion which you know his highly debated is highly suspicious, and makes me think twice about your true motive for this thread.

I doubt that they will see a boost from E3 and I don't think its a majority view that they won it. Did they have the best news and biggest story? Yes. But its clear to me that much of the rest of their presentation was found average or only okay by many.

For example EGDE game E3 to Sony: http://www.edge-online.com/features/we-review-e3-big-three?page=0%2C0

They may well get a boost from 20GB stock clearance, but when big games like GTA IV and price drops in Europe only give moderate boosts at best the news an exclusive game went multiplatform and is likely 12 months from release isn't going to drive any new sales IMHO.

No one (or too few to matter) is going to buy a 360 and wait for FF to drop. Those who bought a PS3 for a 360 may whine about the change but they're not going to buy a 360 because of this, they'll still get FF on PS3.

Does it make 360 look better? Sure, but on its own its not going to drive anything much IMO.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

The 20GB discount price will give a temporary boost to US sales.

Netflix will give them a slight boost, as is helps overcome the lack of Blu-Ray when people choose a console. Blu-Ray is still a much bigger deal.

FFXIII will help slightly in the US this year, and will negate the expected PS3 only boost when it is released.

Casual games might be a slight boost, but the casuals are still going to get a Wii anyway.

I was hoping for a permanent price cut to $299. (which i think is coming this fall), a console redesign, or new unannounced games that will come out this fall.

They still have many new games to announce. Apparently, a new Bungie Halo game, Halo Chronicles, and several others. Looks like some publishers have something against the ESA and didn't want all their big guns to be shown here. M$ is about to start dropping bombs.

Now there is no denying that ms won E3. That was no contest. Ms would have won even without getting FF.

no bost that should be obvious. It will hurt ps3 sales a bit, but they still have versus. If you buy a concole only for ff than you should be a hardcore fan. And thus you should choose ps3 to get both games. MS didnt announce anything new, while sony did. And admit alot of 360 fans would like a 256 shooter on their concole.
