Last year Sony won E3 and they experienced a large shift in momentum (which was also because of the 40GB PS3) in the second half of 2007.
Regardless of what some people say about Sony showing some of their favourite series, the fact remains only two things happened at E3 that we didn't already have a good idea would come to pass. Sony announced a Socom 256 player shooter that is a LONG way away. Microsoft got FFXIII.
Half the internet's gaming forums crashed (including VGC and NeoGaf) due to the overload of glee from Xbox 360 owners, damage control from Sony fans, and shock from EVERYONE at the culmination of Microsoft's conference. The conference subsequently overshadowed every announcement and game display at the Sony and Nintendo conferences, with everything being compared to the enormity of Square Enix's "betrayal."
So my question is, will Microsoft see any major boost over the immediate future, and then over the end of the year and next year due to their E3 victory? Already we see anecdotal evidence that the Xbox 360 is getting boosts in countries it shouldn't even be getting boosts in. What more will come as a result of Microsoft's success this week?
