Forums - Nintendo - Stop Complaining.

Considering the Wii has been a monumental success from day 1, considering that it is pretty easy and cheap to develop for, now that we're nearly done with 2 years, shouldn't Nintendo be able to muster up some more impressive 3rd party support? Shouldn't it be a monumentally easy sell for Nintendo? I just get the sense they're not really trying to establish strong 3rd party relations. As a Gamecube owner, and someone who saw Nintendo's stance with the N64, I'm understandably paranoid that Nintendo is still that same old company who shuns other devs....

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Well I promise I would make a thread if I didn't see good third party support on the wii, but meh I'm too busy playing mk wii to do that.
@Sc
Don't you remenber our bet about retro announcing games on the E3?

No it was about one of retro's games being a new ip. :) I didn't say when they will be anounced.

Meh,anyway watch the capcom conference maybe they'll announce something interesting.

I'm trying, but It won't show for me. Here is the link, could you see the video? http://e3.g4tv.com/e32008/press_conf_detail.aspx?pressconference_key=6

The DS had the same problem. Now look at it. IT is stealing exclusives from consoles. Third parties are just suspicious about the wii. They don't know if large budget 3rd party games sell on it. Also nintendo is making great releations  with companies like tecmo(Fatal Frame IV) sega, grasshopper, etc. They don't have to buy exclusives like MS or SOny.

I see the video now, but it is very choppy.

Just give me a list of the people who complain and I'll deal with them. Every single one of them.

Ohhh please, deal with me. I thought their list of furute games looked a bit weak before E3. They do their media briefing and what new game do I have to look forward to? None! The ones I want now are the same ones I wanted before. What did they do before E3? Hype. I remember people posting quotes from nintendo representatives saying "wait for e3". If someone wants to tell me that I'm asking too much of them, then you should probably remember when the ps3 was released and a whole bunch of people were flaming them for overhyping their console or overhyping some game. This was the same thing. I'm not talking just about nintendo franchises, third party support is still weak.

The problem is that this is not the worst of all. The worst of all is their new peripheral, the wii motion plus. Ohhh please... isn't a peripheral a bad thing because it's not standard? Then people are forced to buy it if they want a new game with it? How many? Four? For how much? Still waiting. I already disliked the number of controllers you have to buy on the wii. Four remotes, four nunchuks and four gc controllers for brawl. Now four more? How much did I spend on controllers already?

Ohhhh man. I hope nintendo or third parties show some new games for the rest of this year because it looks weak. All I see is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Wario Land: Shake It! and de Blob. Four games until the end of the year is not enough. RPGs? Ohhh... and a horrible anouncement... that damn peripheral. Fix this thing in Wii2 and make it standard damn it....

arghhh.... horrible... from one pissed off Wii owner

I'm gonna watch the Nintendo conference in a little bit. As long as they don't sell beer, I won't have a reason to complain.

No, it's more that a lot of their first string teams are still heavily working on 360/PS3 games that have begun development two to three years ago. The enormous development times of HD games are preventing the Wii from getting great third party games sooner.

@rubido: E3 isn't over yet.

You have a valid argument of why the big games are not coming for the wii. That makes a lot of sense. But still, it doesn't take away from the fact that big third party games are not coming. You just explained why they are not coming yet and why they will still take a while to come (because they also take time on the wii and they have to start developing them).

i'm in the dark aout the whole boycott beer thing. can someone please explain.

meh..why complain..I actually liked this E3...MicroSoft trying hard to lie and make people believe they are the most popular and well-known

Sony sweating their asses off trying to show something..and Nintendo smiling and keeping most of the stuff under wraps..

I liked it..the Wiimotionplus was awesome..Wii Sports Resort looked like a good way to show off the motionplus

and not to mention Animal Crossing Wii...it looked droolingly good..

0.0

I need

Also, as those 3rd party games remain in development for the PS3/360, both of those consoles become stronger and therefore those devs need Nintendo and its huge user base less. The waiting game for Nintendo has gotten worse than the PS3 waiting game IMO.
