Yep. It checks out. Nintendo+WTF=WIN. Can't argue with that. Personally though, I will not be in line when this turd drops, though.

Guys, this isn't senseless bashing, so you can say what you want.
The game is pointless!
This is coming from a dedicated Nintendo fan, a musician, and someone who would really enjoy these two ideas coming together.
Guitar hero is a fun game, but some people feel it's limiting the genre because you're just pressing buttons to recreate someone else's song. The next logical step is to give you creative control - the ability to create your own music.
Now what we have here is a game where the key is programmed in, and you just wave the controller around and it plays random notes that are in the same key.
This isn't a game, it's not fun, you're not doing anything with any sense of accomplishment or anything! Just aimless waving.
It surely isn't music! Anyone who's a musician knows that there is much more to music then just randomly playing notes in whatever key you are in. The only thing they give you control over is the rhythm, and even that seems shoddy, the controls seem loose, and with something like music you need to be very precise.
The drum set just sounds terrible as well, maybe it was the drummer, but any sort of percussion device needs to be extremely accurate, or else it just sounds like crap.
I'm sorry, I'm not out here to just bash the next "casual Nintendo game." I'm just pointing out that this game is horrible and has absolutely no appeal to me.

I actually think it looks decent. It's not aimed at the GH fanbase anyway. Since we get GH:WT, we don't need this game, do we? I'll get it though.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...
I agree this will be bad. First off it is not a game. The object of a game is to either gain points or do something to get you to a new level. You just pop this in it's mindless drivel. Nintendo should know better then this. Guitar Hero and Rock Band make this look like a kidde game. Which is what it is. No adult with an IQ should by this drivel. I cannot call Wii Music a game.
Shame on Nintendo.
Seems fine for percussive instruments, not for others though... The E3 demonstration of it failed hard, but that's probably because the participants just sucked (you could tell it was only 1 or 2 instruments which were off).

Wii Fit actually looked innovative, and a lot of people on this site were intrigued, albeit many were also confused. But I think everyone can agree that they were at least impressed by the balance board. I was, although I have no urge to play Wii Fit.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
1. Grab two pencils.
2. Tie them together with a shoelace.
3.Get 3 VERY high/drunken friends.
4.Turn on radio.
Voila! Wave those pencils around to the music, and you've got the Wii Music experience TODAY, and for a fraction of the cost (depending on the quality of the pencils).
I thought it looked like fun. Regardless, I'll at least give it a chance. What I mean by that is I'll get more information when it's released. Rather than quickly judge it by a demonstration at a press conference. Maybe it's more involved than people are assuming? Point is we don't really know yet.

Hey Bill,
the point is, we do already know. See, they had this press conference to show off their future products, and when they know they have an audience of millions, they are going to try to present their products in the best possible light. And when whatever we just saw is what they have to show for Wii music, then things aren't looking to good.
Miyamoto gave us an in depth description of the controls. I'd say a description of the controls by the developer of the game is a safe assumption to make. Point is, we do know.
