Forums - Sony Discussion - the Blu-ray thread, will go on untill hddvds death.

Paramount drops BD support, except for Spielburg's movies, b/c spielburg demanded that his movies include BD support, and spielburg has the market muscle to make his demands count.

More on the spielburg/Paramount drama....apparantly Spielburg was pretty upset.

Michael Bay, the director of Transformers, is apparantly pretty upset at Paramounts move as well, b/c the move to HD-DVD exclusivity will result in lower sales for his movie.

He has said "No Transformers 2 for me!" So, until Paramount goes neutral, he won't be making any more $$$$ for Paramount.

If you look at studios from a world perspective you get a different picture, Studio Canal are pretty big in Europe and are HD DVD exclusive. It still makes me laugh that you can get Fox titles on HD DVD before Blu Ray. :D

Until Paramount pays him enough money seems more realistic to me.

Exactly.

Now, paramount got only $50 million out of this deal, a few million to him and some other directors is going to cut into the gains that they get from this, not to mention the decreased amount of movie sales.

They managed to piss of the 2 guys behind their biggest franchise.

IGn guy was right paramount are morons.

By the way Bay retracked what he said... saying it was a spure of the moment thing and that all he really wants is for fans of his movies to be able to watch the movie in their format of choice. Good for him, but why didn't he say anything about The Rock being only on Blu Ray?

Yea, he retracted it. AND, he mentioned about $200 HD DVD player???

I figured the $200 HD player helped sway Paramount, and this looks like the most conclusive proof thusfar.
