Its pretty much a tie for me between the 360/DS2/DS3, each controller is great, but for some games the triggers just don't work on either the DS3 or the 360 one.

360.

I used to have a PS2 and i never really felt comfortable with the Duel Shock controllers, even after playing through entire games. The main problem i find with it is that the duel sticks are so close to each other it just stretches my thumbs that bit too far. On the 360 pad my thumbs are more relaxed.

Playstation Controllers
DS3 is best yet since its wireless

360's is my favorite at the moment. The design fits right into your hands and the analog sticks and triggers are great. The PS3 controller feels too rigid and uncomfortable, even though it is lighter and has better buttons and Dpad.

How is Eternal Sonata?

wiimote was great for zelda mario and metroid, but for brawl and kart were awful

if not a fps or the game is made for the wiimote it won't feel as nice as the dualshock dual analog are the win

if u ever open a psp, you will understand why i say this... you can use the psp without the buttons and its still great.

I would call the N64 controller. The Z-trigger just felt natural. Also the first time we had an analog stick. The only buttons that where out of place where the four on the Dpad but I only encountered one game that used those (a wrestling game for crying out loud!), and only that made it somewhat usefull (Jet Force Gemini) so I didn't really mind.

Edit: I have to say that weight also matters. I prefer heavier controllers for some reason. I enjoy the force or something (same reason I wear a pretty heavy watch.) The N64 controller + rumblepack felt awesome in that regard.

Trigger and a knob that could be used like a joystick and/or twisted.

Part of the reason i like the Wii is how similar the nunchuck is.

1. Xbox 360- Sometimes I just pick it up just to have the feeling in my hand. Updated GameCube controller making it a lot better, perfect.
2. GameCube- Greatest controller of last generation. Great grip and feeling, just plain awesome.
3. SNES- The ideal controller for companys to improve off of for future generations.
