"AMAZON reports that Microsoft's Xbox360 has boosted its sales by 616%. This increase is a direct response to the official Final Fantasy XIII announcement, from Microsoft's E3 2008 press conference. "

Xbox 360 is now sitting at 10th of videogames' biggest sellers. For comparison, Wii is at 28th and PS3 is at 41st.

 

EDIT: Can a mod/admin remove the ", then 51%" from the title, it was a mistake.

I am not sure but according to a friend of mine who is Japanese, there was a lot of talk on japanese gaming forums and websites about Sony's doom regardless of the fact that FFXIII is exclusive for PS3 in Japan.

But I think that sales are due to a very small number of core gamers who pay close attention to gaming news and amazon is somewhat representative of that sample. Either way this does not prove much but yay speculation.

I think it'll come out on 360 there once they finish the English 360 game. All they need to do is slap the Japanese track on there. Not that it'll sell much, since the PS3 version will be out several months before, and it'll be Xbox.
