The Wii can access the internet and use a keyboard to do so. It can also run Linux if you're feeling in an illegal mood.

The Wii is not expensive by any stretch of the imagination

It is clearly not a niche device, as it is finding much success amongst core, casual and non gamers of both sexes and all ages.

They're selling a decent amount of PS3's now, nothing to write home about.

And yes, it probably is the best way to buy a Blu Ray Player. However Blu ray is still a long way from taking over from dvd, and as soon as it does, you'll see the price of stand-alones drop drastically
