Forums - Gaming - Now Playstation 3 owners know what it felt like to be an N64 Owner in '96

As long, as FFXIII won`t be downgraded on PS3 because of x360, does it really matters? =))

Yeah, FF BRAND last 10 years was associated with PS BRAND. But now, there is too little info to say anything,
Square use Crystal Tools engine, which looks like to be a multiplatform. So it`s hard to say, will FFXIII use whole power of PS3 or not. Only time will show. FFXIII versus atleast will. =)

FFXIII is coming to PS3, while FF7 didn`t come to N64, lol.

I am telling you, its seems to happen to the third console system. Its like the second console (SNES, Genisis, PS2) were golden and had all kinds of great games and special moments. But the third systems (N64, Saturn, and now the PS3) end being over planned, forcing tech and ignoring the developer companies and being too expensive for market they were in.

Microsoft, learn from history and make sure you don't "fall in" the same hole that the previous consoles did.

I'm just saying...

The difference between now and '96 is that SE changed ship because of the N64s crappy cartridges. Square wanted what Ninty couldn't provide, and that was space/storage. Now it's just M$ moneyhatting. But at least the PS3 version is still being made, right?

And now MS can provide something that Sony can't. Access to a larger user base come release time.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

BTW, if Microsoft paid for this, then why didn't the secure a version of the game where they would need it the most?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I still get the game. Am just worried about if the game will get a little gimping....

Everyone needs to get over this garbage. Most games are multiplat or timed exclusives. I am pretty sure Bioshock and Mass Effect 2 will be on PS3 or a spin off thing for Wii since the creators are looking for developers who understand PS3 and Wii dev kits. First of all, this is not the same situation as N64 because the PS3 is still getting the games even though it isn't exclusive. N64 was a great system, but they never was anything that was multiplat on that system except sports games for the most part. Times have changed, it happens. Everyone is a copycat nowadays. Just look at the rest of the 360 stuff other than the Square announcement, it was basically miis on 360.

Everyone thought that Sony was done for when DMC4 and GTA 4 were announced for 360, but sony is still around. Both DMC4 and GTA 4 did not spike hardware sales on either platform. I was surprised to see that 360 saled did not go up when GTA 4 came out due to exclusive content.

If you are a person who buys a system for 1 game only that is your stupid fault. Everyone knew this was going to happen. There have been statements made by square all the way back in early 07 about the cost of FF 13 and that they probably would have to multiplatform the game. Then they said that the cost of the game was really putting a hurting on them financially and that they wanted a publisher to absorb some of the costs. Then they came out and announced the crystal tools engine on PS3, 360, and Wii. Then when the list of games of e3 08 shows up and FF isn't even on the list. Those were 4 strong hints that the FF 13 was not going to stay exclusive. I guess it still is somewhat of a shocker, but not as big as people are making it out to be. If you have been paying attention to the industry, it shouldn't be that much of a heart stopper.

No it's not exactly the same.... but it is drawing alot of the same hate, bitterness and hard feelings as FFVII going to PS. To make matters even worse S-E(Though it was just Square at the time) and Sony really had to rubbed it in to make it burn that much more. I have I don't know how many comics from that time that shows FFVII advertisements that says it would have cost.... (I think over a billion dollars) to put it on the N64 Cart. Now I laugh at it.... (Mainly because of how disappointing FFVII was) but I remember being a might bit upset.... (I loved Nintendo and still do) in having to make the decision of buying a really expensive CD player that just happened to play Games( Other wise known as PS1).

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.
