Ok, so we now know that Final Fantasy VII will be coming to PSX and not the N64. This is pathetic, we know you want to make more money, SQUARESOFT, but come on, this is an insult to both Nintendo and SEGA.

SONY might or might not have paid you, but in actuality, you may actually lose would be buyers, and even more importantly - fans. I was a massive SQUARESOFT fan, especially with FINAL FANTASY, or should I say, I was. You're forgetting your roots SQUARE, Nintendo is where you belong, and that is also where you're fan base belongs too. So, before I lose all faith in you, and although it may be too late, pull back the PSX version and release it on the N64 instead, or count me out from this game, its not just the fact that its on PSX, but also the fact that you're not listening to your fans, in fact, PSX owners do not care about FINAL FANTASY, so why should you deliver to them?

So SQUARESOFT, I'm asking you this, and any LOYAL FINAL FANTASY FAN, to take notice of this, of your TRUE fans, and deliver us with the exclusiveness of FINAL FANTASY VII, giving PSX a few titles is fine, but giving them your best RPG series is something else. So if you're a FINAL FANTASY fan, and wish for FINAL FANTASY to remain with Nintendo - sign this petition, and if SQUARESOFT have any decency left in them, they'll take notice of their TRUE fans!

Basically SE had no choice here, they never set out to make the game multiplatform and did intend it to be PS3 exclusive from the outset.

Now however they are forced to put it on the 360 as well because of simple economics, nobody expected the PS3 to fare this badly and developing for it to be this costly(If the figures I heard are correct MGS4 for instance at 70 million development costs and less then 3 million units sold has cost Konami millions in losses, and FFXIII is an even more expensive game to develop).

The other RPG`s that were anounced recently in Japan with timed exclusivity or even full exclusivity for the 360 for instance are decent sized and even big franchises but at estimates of a million sold they would be unable to bring in the money if put on the PS3 so Microsoft eased their pain, without MS there would not be a Star Ocean 4 PERIOD.


The only company that can be blamed for this situation is Sony as it is their fuckups that created the current climate where MS is ironically saving the core gamer market.

prediction:

Sony conference tomorrow the square enix president is gonna show up again and say "Due to the petition going around on the internet, we are removing the game from the 360. We are very sorry for letting down our fans who own the PS3. Out of apology we will also be selling the game as a greatest hits version right away. So $30 FF13 here you go"
