The pics in Noname2200's are clearly from the Mother (Earthbound) series, but they are definitely not for the only one I've ever know to be playable in the U.S.;  Earthbound for the SNES.

I know I've seen Mother pics in someone else's sig too, though I can not remember who.  Is there some way of playing Mother II and III here in the USA? 

Also was the SNES Earthbound the same as the first Mother in Japan?

SNES Earthbound = Mother 2

Mother 1 and 3 never were released outside Japan.

Earthbound is Mother 2.

The first Mother is for NES. There's a translated ROM floating around under the title "Earthbound Zero."

There's some group doing a fan translation of Mother 3 which I'm not sure is available yet. Supposedly they'll halt production if the game ever sees the light of day outside of Japan in the near future.

Nintendo are going to lose potential profit by not bringing Mother 3 to the US.  I am not  having high hopes for an ofiicial release.

If its Japan only how why am I seeing pics of Mother 3 with english captions?
