Calm down Zen. There certainly is some questionable material strewn about the review butyou don't have to insult the man every other line.

That said it started to look like one of those anti-Square reviews. Not quite as flamboyant but the part about how FF4 only struck a chord (which is basically something you could say about any FF that made it westward) with certain fans seemed to make it out to be part of some crusade to prove that Square/ FF only appeals to fanboys and the likes and I've seen it before.

12 RPG's better than FFIV I will try let's see... (this is for fun and joke purposes but with actual good games just to see)

FFVII or FFVIII or FFIX (Only one of those though, just take your pick)

Chrono Trigger

Pick a Tales of game

Secret of The Stars (Made by Tecmo, always loved that game, I liked it about as much as FFIV I think)

Suikoden I or II

Legend of Legaia

Star Ocean (pick one)

I liked Wild Arms 3 also....

Phantasy Star IV

.... damn, it's really hard to put 12 RPG's above or level with the original FFIV.. I'm actually considering getting a DS for this lol.



If perferring the PS3 over the 360 makes me a fanboy.. I guess I am guilty..

List of PS3 Games I would like to have: LBP, FFXIII(if it ever comes), R2(maybe)

List of Wii Games I would like to have: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (It's not an exclusive but it would be awesome)

Secret of the Star wasn't that great from what I heard.  I also heard LoL and WA3 were mediocre at best

Yea Secret of the Stars and the other two maybe not.. But I really enjoyed SotS almost as much as anything of SNES RPG.. just loved the city being built during the game and the two different parties it was different.. Those three were just ones I was reaching for to try to fill up my list lol

The first Legend of Legaia was epic IMO. Kung Fu RPG FTW lol XD

@Suspense You forgot FFVI. ALso imo opinion VII or VIII don't even come close. IX does, but the story wasn't as good imo so it just misses it. Your right though it is hard, and its even harder to do what they said and name a dozen 4th generation rpgs better than FFIV.

Yea I did forget FFVI... I should have just said pick your favorite FF game lol I know FFIV wasn't my favorite but it's the reason I played all the other ones.

First FF? If so then it was my first FF too. It is my second favorite FF.

Yeah man, this review is very strange, and some questions need to be answered, like how he reviewed the game on 05/21/08, or why he gave the story a 78, or the graphics a 70, when gamespot says it has the best graphics on the ds.

 

Well, in the review it says that 'The characters looked cleaner and more mature back on the SNES. The blocky, disproportioned, childlike models do not suit the game's mature story'. So i suppose that could have taken down the score for both story and graphics.

Don't get me wrong, I disagree with the statement. The graphics are some of the best the DS has to over, and certainly not Childlike.
