Forums - Nintendo - Take Two to Focus on Nintendo

The bigger announcements, are probably coming between E3 and TGS. But anyway, there are some decent stuff from Japanese devs, that Project 0 game seems to have some important names in it. Just because it isn´t from SE it doesn´t mean it isn´t important.

Konami already has been supporting the DS. They have made 2 exclusive Castlevania games, Yu-Gi-Oh, and many others.

Yeah, I guess the Castlevania's count as decent support (though they are currently making a PSP Castlevania).  Yu-Gi-Oh games are on the PSP as well (or at least one of them is).  Still no word from Wii support comming from them.  Hopefully that just means they are being silent till they have something big to show *crosses fingers for E3*

As I mentioned in another post, Konami seems to be the "last bastion" for non-Wii support (DS support is substancial).

I expect this to change in the next 12 months - then the Wii flood will begin (increase...).

I know I want to see Silent Hill, MGS, Ace Combat - and a host of other titles from Konami - on the Wii.

It's really nice to see a big name like Take Two on board for serious game development. Its clear that a big ol' slice of nintendo pie can be given around all developers who take advantage of it.

I wonder if they decided to do it solely on the good sales, if they were going to do it regardless, or if the recent M$ money surge gave them a safety net they didn't have before to do it.

I am not sure about Konami's stance on the Wii. They have announced Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on all platforms including the DS and PSP, but not the Wii. It's very odd that they are holding back on the best selling console. I would figure it would be a no brainer to develop for the Wii. The licensing fees, developer kit fees, and development costs are much lower than the 360 and PS3. I am sure once they see 2007 Christmas sales they will want to hope on the bandwagon or not.

Well, Kojima loves the Wii, and for what I´ve heard, he is working on a Wii game, though most of his focus is in finishing MGS4. Konami publishes his games, so it could be considered a good support. Also, they are giving Elebits and Dewys, 2 pretty innovative games if you ask me. Kiddy, probably, but innovative. I agree that Konamis decition with WE is crazy though, I mean, they can simply port the ps2 game, give it some stuff, and put classic and GC controller compatibilty. I would buy it for sure. WE in ps2 gameplay is perfect in my opinion, there is no need for more advance AI as they actually think. The graphics in that don´t matter too, I mean, sport games are always going to be about the gameplay.

This would need 5 links of substantiation before I even began to believe it. Has anyone else heard that Kojima is working, or will be working, on a Wii game?

I don't have the links on me, but he has said once or twice in interviews that he is really excited about the Wii, and would love to work on a Wii project once he's done MSG. But he isn't actually working on one yet.

Also, while I once again don't have the links, Bandai announced a while ago that in light of low PS3 sales, they were cutting back on their releases for the system. In that same article, they issued the numbers of games each platform was getting with Wii in a strong lead. So Bandai is behind the Wii primarily.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

He want to start dev on a Wii game when MGS will be finished.

As for the source, I read that in the coverage of MGS 4 in game informer last year, can't be more precise.
