Forums - Microsoft - Possible MS gameplan for early august

The Elite will drop down to $399 with the Pro obviously $349 and the Arcade $249 with the rumored started pack at $99 which basically turns an arcade to a PRO. I bet that is what is going to happen.  These will be the prices for Christmas with bundled games in the mix. Thoughts?

Good news if the Elite and Arcade drop in price. However, a $349 price point for the 60gb Elite just seems........Stupid.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

The ways things are going now with the 'added value' packaging and real price drops I think 360 & PS3 still have like another six to seven of these...

Kind of absurd how many adjustments the consoles will see and its one thing I don't think we'll ever see Nintendo copy with a console.

I think 360 will see the across the board drop in Sept now, simply because there sales will be down year over year in the fall (no Halo 3) without a price cut to compensate...

Well they giving you 40 gigs more for the same price plus if it is selling on par with the PS3 why not make as much money as you can especially with the weak dollar in the US. They can do more with services or games to get people to buy at those prices rather then just dropping the price. As much as want a price drop they are in it to make money and most gamers will buy at those prices. Basically all my gaming friends have a 360 or PS3 so price is fine really. In the end a long as games are being made I am happy since I already bought the darn thing.

I for one don't feel MS needs to drop the price of the 360 in NA, they are keeping pace with the PS3. They also dropped the price of the 360 in all places but NA so we might see smaller profits for their division. Once the 60gb comes out in august it will be like a price drop, so consumers will think they are getting more for their cash, plus once November rolls around they will start with the Holiday bundles again.

But if Sony drops the price this fall, i would expect MS to follow.
