I think the assertion that mgs4 wouldn't have sold well on the 360 is just wrong, and don't say "oh but it didn't do well on the original xbox". Time and time again the 360 has shown significantly higher software sales then its predecessor. Look at how gta4 sold on it when it was released at the same time as the ps3 version?

Unfortunately we'll never know for sure how successful it would have been.

It would have sold 3 million on Day 1 had it been multi platform. It should be up to 6-7 million by now .

Not really, Xbox 360 is a software selling monster, the PS3 is the complete opposite. The PS3 would have sold an additional 300k -500k of Halo 3, but the Xbox 360 would have sold an additional 3-4 million copies of MGS 4. FACT

 

 

mgs4 would have always have sold morew on the ps3 then the 360, this game has been getting advertised for the ps3 since the begining of time.

and to go as far as to say the the ps3 would have sold 300k coppies of halo 3 is full of bs. but i aint going to be mentioning this any further as this is a thread to attack the ps3 and mgs4 so i will put it back on topic.

 

mgs4 would have always sold better on the ps3 then 360, just like dmc4

I think I seen that most people weren't impressed with MSG 4 sells, but people still think they are "good" sales.

I don't think you can call MSG 4 a blunder but just not very impressive, but still no where near a COLOSSAL blunder... FF I think will have even higher sells however, some millions more then MSG 4.

Alot of ppl waited to get a PS3 until MGS4 released and when it did, they bought the bundle. Do bundled games get counted in VG sales data?
