Why all the FUD about Squareenix games?

I've played a few this cycle and enjoyed them all: You guys need to drop your biases towards spinoffs and appreciate the games for being games.

I enjoyed playing Dragon Quest: Swords and honestly the only reason I didn't play it was because of lack of interest - this spurred from the game being too hard at a point for me.

I enjoyed Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: DS the 4 player function was awesome and I haven't played an RPG since FF7 where I brought a character up to level 99 much less 2 characters.

I know I friggin enjoy Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Mlaak because I've played through it 3 times and this is making my 4th, after I find some Wii point cards I'm going to get the rest of the DLC.

I hell of enjoyed The World Ends With You, in fact my co workers tell me I'm spoiled because I rate down other DS games that don't have such an amazing sound track.

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2, I beat the first one and this one is good also - I still just wish they would bring back the grim adult story development they used from the PSX version. Delita is my favorite antagonist to date.

Final Fantasy 3 is amazing but again the last dungeon was too testing so I didn't beat it however 4 looks amazing and I actually remember 4's story so I'm picking that up after I'm done with A2 and Summon Beast.

dib8rman, while I agree, this is talking about sales, not gaming.

He claims that Square Enix is making cheaper, lower budget titles. He doesn't say that they're necessarily bad.

True but I'm responding to the ones who are talking about Square and Enix merger lead directly to a 'drop in quality for an increase in quantity.'

Not exactly the OP. I hadn't posted because I didn't have much to say in pro or con of the OP, that wasn't going be to or was said already.

People bashed Squaresoft, for rereleasing games on the PSX. But now that they port games to the DS, it's all good and fun all of a sudden. In other words, 'now that these ports are coming to a console you like, it's good all of a sudden'.

its more likely a port to the xbox360 than to the wii... of ff13.
you can be sure about this stuff unless you are iwata itself.

square have put their big guns on HD consoles until now, and saying its because the wii won't sell third party RPG is probably true.

persona 4 selling better on the ps2, than Tales (a bigger name) on the wii.

unless some of you guys know iwata himself its just gossip the kinda of TMZ.com does.

Your telling other people that it's not right to like games on the console they like, when the guys who like the other console get games and don't like it?

Is that the new meme of the month; not liking games? Last time I checked (of games) spin-offs, rehashes and ports are all games. Can you clarify for me.

Laugh all you want, but the gameplay was more balanced, more complicated... and the story while a little childish was a lot better as far as developments, pacing and logical progression.

There wasn't one aspect in which FFT is better then FFTA.

Does it matter when you have more PS2 owners?

Aside from which... there are plenty of ways to tell a story and still let people coninueing on what was going on.  For example some extra optional explainers by way of NPC interaction early on... or a simple cutscene that explains the last two games and some important concepts.

They do this in RPGs all the time... even when it isn't a direct sequel.

Look at the opening of FF12.  That thing was MASSIVE.

Wait, WHO bashed Squareshoft? In the PSX era, there wasn't a lot of Internet forums you know. Your friends may have bashed Squaresoft, but that doesn't mean the VGChartz community should.

I call your bluff. Show me 1 single thread made in the PSX era that bashes Squaresoft.

Also, Di8, I know you read the whole thread, I was just making sure you understood what he meant (it took me quite some time to understand it).
