Agree
ms has two options if they want to have a chance at winning a generation (they have almost none at winning this one):
1) completely change their brand. they need to become a casual brand as well, which they are not. if they dont do it nearly perfectly then they will lose the choir which spreads their message or waste tons of money which will eventually cause ms to kill the division. they are trying this and so far it is wasting money.
2)focus only on giving good games and accept that they are niche hardcore. they won't waste money, and their choir will spread their word. their brand will eventually be associated with quality as their devs who are good ask for more freedom and make games that appeal to people outside their core market. their marketing will also figure out how to market to specifics audiences much better.
The 50 dollar cut of last year increased a bit the sales for a month or so ,but the sales of this year have been pretty much the same as last year prior the cut.The massive cut in Europe (120 euros so 180 dollars) boosted a bit the sales for some weeks but its returning slowly to the previous level.
X360 with its PC games and the online fees is a too hardcore console,and it has very difficult to expand to really big markets.The price cuts help a bit but wont win the day.THe PS3 ,on the other hand ,more than doubled its sales on a continued base with its price drop and when it drops again it will manage something similar.
360 can still win this gen - if they cut the price to $10:)
I don't it will change much at all, when are people going to realise price is not tat much of a factor. Its value....
Nintendo = Innovation = Wii
1. This year, the xbox sold more than last year2. they sell much more than last generation3. they have really strong software-sells. 4. The last price cut is one year ago. I gues the price cut will help a lot. The 360 will top the Xbox at the end of this year. So u can try to argue as much as you want to, but the 360 is not a flop.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
well, many people are beginning to see the great value of the ps3.
i highly doubt that a $50 price cut will help much. the 360's gonna need a lot more than dat to beat the PS3, especially with the 80gb PS3 bundle on its way!

And what about the disk read errors that resulted in a class action lawsuit for the PS2? I guess Sony has no place either.
Sales will rise. M$ will continue to deliver awesome games to their audience. Gamers are happy. There ya go.
Agreed. There is no way that the 360 will catch up to the Wii. To solidify second place, also agree, $50 is not THAT much of a price drop, I think it will only stall the PS3 from taking 2nd place.
