Forums - Gaming - Left 4 Dead vs Resistance 2

I'd get L4D on 360 as I would want to play with some of my friends/cousins on Live.
We could also chat with eachother and everyone else on Live since everyone most people have a mic. I don't know about PC version ??

P.S. It was recently announced that the 360 version will have split-screen.

BEEEYAWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

It's simple. Left 4 Dead has zombies. Left 4 Dead also let's you be a zombie. Resistance 2 doesn't allow either of those things. Left 4 Dead wins.

Question for anyone that knows. Are PC and 360 players going to be able to play together on this game, or is it seperate?

They stated it was separate. PC gamers don't want to be on teams with people using gamepads.

No seriously though. It's a team game, and you need everyone in the team to be coordinated and using the same controls.

Besides which... the PC is going to get craploads of Mods i'd imagine.

Everyone on PC has a mic when playing games that use them.  You won't find people using mics in CoD4, but that's because you can't use a mic with 50 players and not cause chaos.  Everyone has a mic in TF2 though.

Fair enough. It's not a total loss. There's going to be enough people buying this for both platforms that each community will be large enough to be very active. I just thought it would be good because then all of the VGChartz players could get on teams together. Now we'll all be split on seperate sides of the Berlin Wall.

Craploads is probably an understatement.  This is a Source Engine multiplayer game.  They are mod heaven.

I know you said that people that say they are different games should go die and all... But how can you base a tatical online multiplayer only title to a Single Player driven game?

I think Resistance 2 is the better game based souly on the fact it has a story AND 60 player multiplayer. Though I think Left 4 Dead is going to be amazing. just, not so amazing if I dont have any friends on, unlike R2.

I'm putting more of an emphasis on co-op. As you know, Resistance 2 has a campaign dedicated towards the 8 player co-op with classes and everything.

But it's just a co-op campaign... the same thing that's been in co-op games for 10 years. It's not doing anything different in co-op. L4D is added whole new dynamics to co-op.

It uses different classes and puts you up against literally 50 chimera at once. It's ridiculous. I have read a lot about it but no will be hyped until they see videos.

Which has been done in shooters. Minus the 50 chimera... which really is just more enmies which isn't new.

Now the AI director. That... that is a real step foward if done correctly.

Not just for FPS either.

You really don't want to like this game huh?

What is it about console players (not trying to offend anyone) that they think PC players don't have mics?  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought it's a stereotype for PC nerds to be up against their monitors with a headset and a keyboard/mouse, gaming into the late hours.  Every PC gamer I know has a headset and most of them use it all the time...

In a game like Left 4 Dead, with just 4 people on a team, people online will be talking in their mics nonstop, I'll guarantee you that.

I'd be more worried about PS3 players talking to each other, because I believe Bluetooth headsets are the only way to go, which can be expensive for some...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I will be getting the 360 version as well. I have a group of 3 guys that I party up with on all of the FPS online games(currently terrorizing Team Swat). We are gonna be destroying some damn zombies. I cannot wait.

What Left 4 Dead? or Resistance 2?  Resistance 2 will be fine i'm sure.  But when it comes to gameplay innovation that has a chance of having a lasting effect on the videogame world.  You can't beat L4D and Spore... and to me doing something new is just as important as everything else because i'm not only a fan of games... but the evolution of games.

R2 is the much better game in every way. L4D is just mindless shooting with no tactics or anything.
