Probably they didnt lie at all. It could just have been a mistranslation with no false purpose in mind.

Yet I do also hope they do make a remake. But I would prefer FFVI over VII. Sadly the modern FF lost all the charm the previous entries had.

BTW if Lost Odyssey would be named FF it would have sold millions of copies and would be said to be one of the best entries in the series.

Except Final Fantasy never gets average ratings. Plus, If Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey's current sales are indicative of the 360 fanbase's taste in RPGs, then even if it were named FF, it still wouldn't sell that great

They never get average ratings because they are named Final Fantasy.

Think about it this way. Final Fantasy X-2 got an 85. Metacritic average.

Persona 2 has a 83.

Persona 3 got a 88 and FES got 89 on gamerankings.  Brand name has nothing to do with high scores in reviews.

I'd think by now people would know that almost everything with the Final Fantasy name on it gets good ratings.

Lost Odyssey is much better than FFXII, VII, and VIII in almost every aspect and it still got just good ratings.

Whatever.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and I won't criticize, but,

hahahahhahahahahahaha

Care to explain? Which aspect of the above mentioned games is better than Lost Odyssey?

Inferior Storyline and Characters, an imporant part of an RPG.

Also, the storyline was derivative and didn't really bring anything new to the table, although the memory segments were cool.

The load times and slowdown were also pretty bad in comparison, when you consider this is a 360 game and FFVII and FFVIII are PS1 games. Then you have FFXII which had little to no slowdown and very little loading times.

Please tell me you are calling FFXII's character's inferior and not LO's characters.

Wow, this thread got derailed...it's now about Lost Odyssey!

Well, my thoughts on Lost Odyssey are this:

Great game, but with a lot of faults. I'd give it an 85 or so.

The leveling system was dreadful (I hate having "max outs" on levels), the screen tearing and frame rate were shit, there wasn't enough "super weapons" and side quests to keep you exploring (world felt "crunched" or "limited"), the storyline was boring (but character development was GREAT)....a bunch of minor things. Far from perfect....but still really good.

But with that said, it is easily the best JRPG of THIS generation (next gen). I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone. It had MANY strengths...especially character development.  Lol, I even shed a few tears!

LO is made by the dude who created FF AFTER he bombed his first, and only, FF movie. How can one make such an epic series, and then cause the company to lose a ton of money? Also, Mist-Walker =/= S-E, so don't bother trying to make character comparisons when you have Tetsuya Nomura and Yoshitaka Amano working together. On FFXIII, the game didn't lack any sort of character development. I mean, people were complaining and whining about FFVII-FFX characters, so they did something different for once, and people still complain, but makes them look like hypocrites and contradicts what they like.

It doesnt say about ff7 remake guess we have to wait until august what they will announce.

FINAL FANTASY VII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, yet another FF7 remake rumour. Seeing as how Compilation of final fantasy 7 is supposed to continue for another 8.5 years, I would not expect a FF7 remake anytime soon. Square Enix will milk the franchise for the next 8.5 years AND any remake before that would kill compilation because people will stop caring about FF7 after they are given the "definitive" version.

At Dno, you are obviously not happy with the 360 or else you would not use the term "xbots", so why pretend to not be a troll when clearly you've overblown a statement that you incorrectly translated and claiming it as credible.

You can pretty much assume that a remake of FF7 will come eventually, that's a given. Same with every other FF game, considering how well each remake sells. The question now is the time it will be released and platform.

Many say PS3, but if what I believe is true (FF7 remake at the end of compilation in 8 years time) then there is every chance it could go handheld, because no doubt graphics will surpass PS1 at that stage (or at least the original FF7 anyway) and well S-E has shown handhelds more remake love in recent years then the home consoles. A remake in the next 2 years will be entirely impossible, considering the work that's going on with FF13 and VS, as well as Nomura's attention being focused on Kingdom hearts afterwards. Unless of course you FF7 fans are okay with unknown S-E workers remaking FF7 rather than the old hands that have carried the franchise and other Square franchises over the past 10 years.

FFVII won't be as interesting the second time aroud even with the new and improved graphics. All the surprises and story twists would be gone. The game's not worth making. Their resources are better off used for FFXIV.

I agree with you. It would be a bad idea to remake this game in full HD as remakes never sell that much compared to the original. Most of the time, they just remake games because it's much easier than to release a new game but the only games they truly remade were on DS which costs much less to do than an HD game. Also, at this point, it would be a huge risk to have 3 Final Fantasy games nearly completed for the PS3. They can't just release all of them at once, as they would compete with themselves.

They are better to use the money to fund their next big project.
