I just noticed the same thing in my translations from tools found on google.  The only reference to FF7 translates as:

"In an interview granted in the Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, Tetsuya Nomura gives some interesting details about Finale Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete, Blu-ray version of the film taken out already a certain time ago."

That's not to say the translation is perfect, but I don't see anything to indicate an alternate meaning.

Probably they didnt lie at all. It could just have been a mistranslation with no false purpose in mind.

Yet I do also hope they do make a remake. But I would prefer FFVI over VII. Sadly the modern FF lost all the charm the previous entries had.

BTW if Lost Odyssey would be named FF it would have sold millions of copies and would be said to be one of the best entries in the series.

considering that the tech demo was in the works in 2005.....they could have been working on it since then, secretly. It's all speculation right now, so let's just wait and see it out. I mean, even the new SKu is still a rumor itsself, let alone this

This game is already over a decade old and it's my favorite game ALL-TIME so I really hope they remake this game in HD for a new generation of gamers. I remember someone saying at Squaresoft (now Square-Enix) a while ago when fans were clamoring for a remake on the PS2 that as long as the PS1 classic can be played on current generation systems there is no need to remake it.

Well, I'll still keep my fingers crossed... I mean they must have made that FFVII PS3 tech demo for a reason right? Right? hehe

Except Final Fantasy never gets average ratings. Plus, If Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey's current sales are indicative of the 360 fanbase's taste in RPGs, then even if it were named FF, it still wouldn't sell that great
