Forums - Gaming - Konami sues Viacom-Harmonix

Wow, this just in Konami is the biggest douche next to Activision blocking Ps3 guitar compatibility

How dare Konami attempt to collect money from another business that has (allegedly) used Konami's technology to make millions. Those bastards and their desire to collect money that is rightfully theirs and force Harmonix/Viacom to stop illegally using their technology.

good luck konami... you'll need lots of money to beat harmonix who is owned by MTV.

First of all, capitalization and punctuation, please. Second, it's actually Viacom that's the real money. MTV is just a part of that.

Note your point otherwise stands, but it could still happen, if Konami has good cause. I'm guessing they must have something to base this on. If it was just suing for the sake of it, they would being going after Red Octane as well (for Guitar Hero).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

I agree with Lord

Awesome stuff. I love to see MTV get taken down in any fashion. I feel like Nero watching Rome burn. Where's my fiddle?

F**K MTV.

@Gurus Thanks for the source.

I want to know the agreement with Activision and Harmonix.
*sigh*

So Konami sold the tech to Red Octane originally, I assume.

Then Activision bought Red Octane, along with the Guitar Hero name and the rights to the tech.

And MTV bought Harmonix, who don't have the rights, which is why they're being sued.

Is that right?
