Forums - General - Tribunal ruling makes mockery of UK law

well there is your problem, its not teh law its teh religion, you dont like it, and yes that is very similar to what a terrorist believes so ehh....i dont suport his actions but i believe he has a ight to keep on believing in them, and if he were to blow me up i would not bear him ill will b/c of my religion, i know this world is a temporary thing and that what awaits is the next great game

i can into this world with love in my heart, i will leave with it and not let the filth and anger from this world change me or cloud my heart and soul.....if you want to be gay go for it, but dont force someone who dosent want to play join the game and then pout when they dont want to do it by your rules

if you allow religion to interfere with politics and law, you effectively endorse terrorism, therefore we should keep religion out of the law and out of politics.

edit: are you high or something?

^nope just at peace with who, what , and why i am......no drug needed just understanding that in the grand scheme of thing me, my family, my country, my planet, my galaxy and nothing compared to what is out there

you need to take a step back and see that you are promoting discrimination while fighting for equality, cant you see the irony in that?

i know everybody loves pointing the finger at the bad guy but you fail to grasp that the most discriminated people in the world are those that follow a religion, to be fair the most oppressive people in the world tend to be religious but that is a different cat in another bag

@ghost you should come in here man and trade philosophy here

um what, religous people have more rights than anyone, look at this ruling for instance, if she were just a homophobe, she would have been told where to shove it, but somehow people think discrimination is ok when it is in the guise of religion

Dude, seriously quit talking. Your logic is so shoddy and full of straw men, it should be put to good use in Halloween. Allowing religion to "interfere" with politics and law in no way endorses terrorism. Are you high or something? Good God man. Calm down.

You cannot force this woman to do something against her will. She is not hurting anybody by not performing the ceremony, just get someone else to do it.

Everyone is influenced by what they believe, religious beliefs or not. Therefore should anyone that believes in religion of any kind not be allow to be in a government role? Should they not be allowed to help shape the laws? Can they not speak up for what they believe in? Terrorism kills. Religion does not. Do not confuse the two.

religion causes terrorism though, it also incites discrimination, please read my posts fully before responding. how many atheists do you hear about that are terrorists?

I know you like to think your important but your not, i am not, and he is not...we all came into this world naked and when you die your body will still rot lke the rest of them.....face it in teh grand scheme we are nothing more then a blip on the radar, infact maybe not even that

wtf?

you seem to think it is okay to say this woman cant follow her religious beliefs b/c it is better that she has to follow the law here

That is a common misconception in anciant rome it was okay to lay with men but not to follow christ, in Africa right now its just as bad to be a christian as it is to be homosexual, and in teh current trend (save this ruling) it seems to be safe to say your gay then it is to say your a follower of some diety b/c at least then you have more laws to get what you want

If she were a vicar, I might understand... though not necessarily agree. Churches (and synagogues, mosques etc.) should have the right to religious freedom but this woman was a registrar. She is just using her religion as a cloak for her own bigotry. She should have lost her job for discriminating against gay people.

This is the main thing I have a problem with.

How is she not hurting anyone by not performing the ceremony?

She basically said "I am not marrying you because a book says you are abominations."

Totally not harmful.
