Forums - Gaming - Game time... what sort of atmosphere do you create?

I've been curious about this for a while now.So i always play games in as little light as possible as i believe it enhances the experience, take tonight for example, i closed the curtains at 7 and locked the doors and positioned my chair smack center to my tv i rang the mrs so i knew she wouldn't disturb me and got a jug of water and sat down and played metroid prime corruption til 5 minutes ago (its 12;55 in the uk) Unfortunately i have a headache now but it was worth it. I always make sure the room's tidy and that there's going to be no disturbances. Also i'll roll a couple of roll ups so i don't have to pause to make a ciggy.

so what sort of ritual do you guys have, if any and  what sort of environment/atmosphere do you create for yourself for a mass gaming session?

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)

Dark dark and really dark in the room and I wear my pyjamas.

I must have it dark beacuse of my projector



If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

The first time I played resident Evil 1 was 2 am and I was all alone in the house......


I will never ever play games like that ever again in the middle of the night..


I almost died by horror when the 2 dogs came through the windows..

Oh god, it's a religious moment everytime I play games (especially games like Metal Gear Solid 4)! xD

I usually lay down on the couch or if it's a very competitive game, I'll just sit down on my puffy (!) chair and put it right in front of my TV. Also, very important, everyone around me has to stop talking during cutscenes and such or otherwise I'll be seriously angry (like grabbing a scissor and cut their tongue stuff)!



Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
