Yes, Nintendo is notorious for milking their franchises and overcharging customers for comparatively poor service. I'd go as far as saying that Nintendo is perhaps the worst offender of product exploitation in the modern history of the capitalist market.

WTH are you talking about???? SMG, MP3, TP, MK, all GREAT games. And comparitively poor service??? Their customer service is second to none in the gaming industry. Troll.

1. Poor service as in no HD solution and refering to COSTUMERS demanding one as geeks and otaku. Poor service in charging 279 (roughly equivalent to xbox core pricing) for 8 year old technology. Poor online service. Exploiting to no end their most beloved franchises, primarily Mario.

2. As far as quality games are concerned, you mostly have to rely on a few actual hardcore first party Nintendo games (though hardcore is relative in this case as well as TP, SMG and MP3 were one of the easiest games in their series) and as far as third party, mature quality fun is concerned you're better off looking elsewhere because the Wii largely the destination of shovelware and casualized games.

3. As far as finding games with in depth, well realized deep storylines...let's not even go there, because Nintendo's obsession with "gameplay" has led to a situation where most third parties are left to focus on gameplay as well in order to compete effectively at the expense of deep, story driven games.

1. Poor service has absolutely nothing to do with HD. HD is a capability, not a service... brilliant . And the Wii is by no means 8 year old technology, the control system is completely revolutionary, the processor is just a few years old, and the GPU is also new. It's not as powerful as it's counterparts, but it gets the job done. 8 years ago, AGP ports were just coming out on PCs, the GAMECUBE had not even been officially announced, much less released, and GDDR3 didn't even exist. Are you joking?? And it's $259 US dollars, this is LESS than the X360 Core, and it comes with a game. Besides that, value is determined by what the comsumer wants, and apparently the Wii has more value to the consumer than the HD systems, since it's selling so much better.

2. 3rd party Games? Here we go.

3rd party Games that are out: Zack & wiki, RE4, RE Umbrella Chronicles, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Top Spin 3, LEGO Indiana Jones, Call of Duty 3, Sonic and the Secret Rings, LEGO Star Wars, No More Heroes, Okami, Tiger Woods, Godfather, Scarface, Need For Speed: Carbon, Need For Speed: Pro Street Red Steel, Trauma Center, Trauma Center Second Opinion, Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Metal of Honor Vangaurd, Alone In The Dark, Manhunt 2, Dragon Quest Swords, Fifa Soccer, Pro Evolution Soccer, Bully Scholarship Edition, Death Jr Root of Evil, Nights, Rockstar Table Tennis, Destroy all Humans, Big Willy Unleashed, Madden Series, Obscure: The Aftermath, Prince Of Persia

On the way: Fatal Frame 4, Fragile, Facebreaker, de Blob, The Conduit, Mad World, Spyborgs, Skate It, Rygar, Deadly Creatures, Mushroom Men, Monster Hunter, Monster Lab, Call Of Duty 5, Need for Speed Undercover, Stare wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Sonic Unleashed, Tomb Raider Underworld, Castlevanie Judgement

I'm sure I've missed some 3rd party games, but you get the point (or maybe you don't).

3. Um, RE Series, Fatal Frame, Scarface, Godfather, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Zelda TP, MP3, Fire Emblem, No More Heroes, Okami? Granted, Wii is not currently the best system for storyline based games, but good gameplay does not have to mean no storyline, these things are NOT mutually exclusive, and it is shallow logic to say they are. Story is up to the devs, and I'm sure they will deliver.

Your post was full of pure and utter fail. You are simply a nintendo hating troll that has nothing better to do than spout your biased opinions as fact. Why are you even here (in the nintendo forum)?

Lets keep this nice people - had a few complaints already.

Ultimately, no one is forcing consumers to purchase Nintendo products. People do it because they want to. If Ninty can get away with "overcharging", its the consumers fault - not Nintendo's. People simply don't buy the products, and the price will drop - simple supply & demand.

...

And your third point: what are you saying? That consumers prefer gameplay over storylines, and this is forcing other companies to "not put out rubbish, because it doesn't sell"?

Its an open market - Nintendo are successful because they do a good job - not a bad one.

Mario is the bigger offender because his games are only on Nintendo systems. There, I said how it is. Please don't ban me.
