It´s said that due to the system´s 1 year headstart, with MS rushing the console, the RROD came to haunt them.
But on the other hand, it´s also allowed the system to keep a 6 million (5 million and something, if you want to get technical) lead over the PS3 and many devs already had gotten used to the system´s archtecture around the time the PS3 was released.
