Everyone keeps talking about the pro which does make sense considering all the pictures only show that model but what if the big announcement is the arcade going down to $199.  This would put each sku at $100 difference and the arcade significally lower then the Wii.  Would the $199 arcade have a bigger impact then the $299 Pro?  Currently about 95%-99% of 360 games can be played with just a memory card which includes online games so if your just looking to play games out of the box without any downloadable content it is still a great system.  Could the Arcade along with the rumored motion controls be MS responce to the Wii?  Basically it seems pretty certain the pro is going to be $299 though my question is what if MS drops the arcade down to $199?  Thoughts?

I think it's more likely they'll drop it to $229, as to me $199 would seem desperate. But it would absolutely help sales.

^^ I think it would matter a whole lot. At $199 it's in the range of impulse buying, where people start to buy things without even thinking that much about it.

All Microsoft needs to do at that time is release their own big guns--Gears 2, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead, Banjo, etc.  And Killzone 2 isn't coming until Q1 '09.
