How many games were multi-million sellers for the first 2 years of the PS2 life compared to the first 2 years of the life of PS3/360?

VGchartz doesn't have the data for it, so I'm not really able to find out.

You could check Japan out for yourself though, but that's not really that interesting, as Ps2 had sold double of the 2 combined.

I'll do a rough estimate though.

Through its life, Ps2 had 107 2M + sellers.

I'll count Ps2 launch as 26th October 2000, as that is the America, and middle, launch.

None of the year of 2000 launches (according to GR) sold 2M through life.

At least 8 of the 2001 launches made 2M through the first 2 years. I'll say 8-10 made it, as I may have missed a few.

At least 5 of the 2002 releases made 2M through the first 2 years. Maximum is 8. Remember that some games are discounted because the year ended before November.

So I estimate anywhere from 13 to 18 for Ps2. 15 is realistic.

X360 has 15 after a bit more than 2.5 years, Ps3 has 6 after a bit more than 1.5 years.
