I am falling behind (not in the tables yet); but falling behind regardless. I need a new trophy supported game. Likely to be SOCOM or Buzz; or maybe both

It isn't an equal footing, it just punishes people for trying more games.  Like I said earlier, under your system someone can have the exact same trophies as someone else, but because they have a new game with less than 100% they would be ranked lower.  Not to mention it would be considerably more work because he would have to determine how many of the games are PS3, PSN, or expansions.  As well as individually check how many trophies came from each expansion.

As you said "skills [are] what matter", but a team wouldn't take a player if they only showed up to two games.  Even if they won both of them.  So if anything, under your system we should force everyone to buy every game with trophies or they aren't allowed to compete.  That would be the only truly equal playing field.  But even then everyone has different amounts of free time to devote to gaming.

Of course that is ridiculous.  Honestly your syetem seems like it would take a lot of the fun out of it.  Why would you want to start a new game, earn a trophy, and then go down in ranking because now you have a game that only has 2% of the trophies?

Was wondering what would happen if more than 100 people added vgchartz, I thought the maximum number of friend ID's you could have on the PSN was 100?!

The difficulties with your idea have already been outlined, but I'll just add the point of Platinum trophies. At a mere glance it is possible to see who has been more successful in their games by just looking at the Platinum trophy column.

The problem at the moment is that PSN games do not have Platinum trophies, but there will sooner or later be far more Blu-Ray games with trophies than there are PSN games, diminishing the problem.

I am content to sit some way down the chart if I have more Platinum trophies than many of those above me. It may not be a perfect solution to the issue you raise but it's good enough.

Another PSN account will be created to handle the additional members once the list grows to over 100 members.
