@ crymetyme, HideoK, and getrdone: Thanks for the support guys. I'm glad you like the new trophy table and I'm happy I could help out with the league.

I have a few more ideas for the league that I'll post a little later today. I'll be looking forward to any feedback on those ideas!

I still say if you want a balanced league you need take into account the number of games different people have.

Will forever favour those with more trophy games until that happens.

As said before, it's like comparing the points of a football team that has played 10 matches against a team that's only played 2. It isn't a balanced result.

I can see a problem with ranking members in this way. Could you elaborate on how you see this working and how we could rank everyone?

seriously. Some Warhack trophies are a pain in the ass.

on 124 trophies btw.

It still doesn't make much sense to compare someone with 1 completed game to someone with 5.  Is your problem with the fact not many games have trophies at the moment or (in the future assuming all games have trophies) that people who have more games have the advantage?

@KylieDog

Life's kind of funny that way. It seems that the people with more of whatever they need to get ahead are the ones who are at the top. The VGChartz trophy league is a good life lesson for you, I'm assuming that you aren't over 25 otherwise you wouldn't need the lesson.

@KylieDog
Yeah the way you propose wouldn't work though. People shouldn't get penalized for not getting 100% trophies in all games they play. If we divided total score by the number of games played with trophies (say: divide by 5 games) and then I only got 1 trophy in a new game that would severely hurt my score by dividing by 6 with only 1 extra trophy point.

On top of that retail games and PSN games award different amounts of points 82 vs 21 standard PSN + 6 points per expansion PSN. How would we regulate PSN games + expansions and divide by #'s here to get the average.

The new points system Arcturus designed is the best way I can think of.

The other way to go is do like the 360 gamerscore league is doing on vgchartz,

Still track total amount of points but track it per game too so people with less games can still compete on the games they have.
The issue is that at this point the tools available to track trophies would make this require a lot of work as you can't quickly do that on a web site and have to log on PSN and check the person's trophies there........

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

^Just because people can't afford as many games as others doesn't mean we should change the scoring system. Next thing you know people are going to want to change the system because some people have more time to play games than they do. Hell, I'll never get as many points as HideoK because I don't have that much time on my hands. Should I complain about it until someone changes the rules? No.

In any competition there are going to be three major things that influence the scoreboard.

1. Skill
2. The amount of Money you have to invest
3. The amount of time you have to invest

Unlike, time and skill there are many ways around the money aspect of it. You can rent games, or you can get the games from a friend through PSN sharing or borrowing. Changing the rules for an easily circumvented hurdle is stupid.

^PS: I didn't pay for any of the games I have Trophies for. I borrowed Drakes from a friend and PSN shared for Stardust. This argument about not having as many games as others is just dumb, get creative if you want to compete. That's what really proves you're just as good as the people with more money, bitching until someone changes the rules just makes your accomplishment shallow and is one of the reasons I hate American society so much. We think we have a god given right to fairness and bitch about it so much that when the rules get changed they aren't fair anymore.
