IT IS POSSIBLE
@MikeB: Of course it's all about stisfying the customers. What's a 3 billion loss? Nah it's nothing, probably they are celebrating this loss because the PS3 brought some old gamers back to console gaming.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Sony is fine, they trippled their profits last fiscal year.
@ BengaBenga
@MikeB: They could have made more than that, but all they got to blame is their inefficient gaming division. A division that brings losses and stirs the company, for example having to fire Ken Kutaragi, is not good for the company.
Allowing Nintendo to become bigger than them is probably even worse. Money is not there to throw around like you imply. There's a lot of investors, shareholders and researching companies that would like to see PS3 payback all their investments, rather than having promises of an uncertain future.

It's a big Ego hit that Nintendo is now worth more then Sony despite Nintendo only doing one thing.
It shouldn't really effect them though aside from the minor hurt in pride that they weren't the ones to have the huge market cap rise to take on the biggest boys in the Japanese industry.
good luck with this, slut.
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.
Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive
If there is gonna be a price drop + introduction of 80 GB in europe/others then it MIGHT but other than that I honestly don't see any gaming machine priced that high to sell that much in a month.
so 2 things might make that happen but still not given.
1.Price drop of 50 euro across europe.
2.introduction of 80 GB/ backward compatibilty
one more thing might help:
3.good motorstorm2/ LBP bundles
meaning with its current price there is NO WAY it could hit 3 million in other alone in a month.
you know I am a PS3 fan but I m sorry this doesn't sound logicall at the moment with the given situation(no backward compatibility and high price)
I think the early production levels of PS3 alone prove Sony didn't plan on selling so few consoles. They made almost as many PS3s as Nintendo made Wiis but sold barely half of them.
