A singer is blaming video games when he was charged with assult?

lol, knife crime?

You know why I'm immune to knife crime?

Because I'm a staunch advocate of gun crime.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Guns, Bombs, Genocide of Iraqi citizens, Masculine Tough guy culture, take you pick. Didn't Bowling for Columbine teach anyone anything. If someone profits of war / sells war, by that action, they are encouraging a violent aggressive culturally accepted form of dispute resolution. Anyone noticed how all the FPS's seem to come out of Western countries? Anyone wonders why japanese games are quite different in context and approach to aggression than other countries. It's never any individual cultural object, its the entire system that promotes the wrong way of dealing with things.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Any Brits in this thread??

Anyway, the UK are recently plagued by a series of knifings (just read today that two French students in the UK where killed with almost 250 stabs total, then set on fire), most of which are related to gangcrimes I believe. Even moreso, most of these attacks happen in neighbourhoods where a videogame-system can't even be bought on the average pay-scale of the people living there.

im british (From England), im well aware of the knife crime problems here at the moment, it seems london has become a knifing hotbead at the moment, it seems barely a week goes by without a knife death in london on the news, if youre intrested Channel 4 are doing a special news program on it at 7pm on sunday

It's great to know inner city estates in England have taken over from Belfast as being the most violent places to live. At least with a few paramilitaries about in Belfast most of the people who get stabbed or kneecapped deserved it. Like those spides that go joyriding in the car of someone they really shouldn't have. Now that's what I call community policing.

It´s funny that he says:

"If kids are sitting up all night smoking super skunk and they become so desensitised to crime because they're playing these video games, it's really, really scary."

Why didn´t he place the blame in the super skunk? Oh, wait. He probably enjoys the super skunk and that would defeat his point.
