Why? Because they do the exact thing that every other corporation does, even Sony and Nintendo? You hear more about Microsoft because they are bigger and they are more local than Japanese companies. Reasons I chose XBox 360 over PS3:

1. Better games

2. Cheaper price for similar system

3. I prefer downloads over hard copies

4. Microsoft is an American company and due to our current economic woes it is better to purchase products from a domestic company than to purchase product from foriegn competitors, espeically when citizens of the foriegn corporation's company refuse to purchase many of our domestic products.

 

so...Hitachi, Toshiba/Samsung, and BENQ are all American companies now are they?

(they make the DVD drives for the 360, and they're not the only foreign companies to do so) so your xenophobic argument holds no water, i'm afraid.

Again, concerning Microsoft's XBox 360, the profits come back to America.  I fail to see how this is so hard to understand.

Lets assume that your magical idea of economics exists and nationality of corporations doesnt matter.  Then, it would make no difference if Microsoft, Sony, Ford, Toyota, etc. do well or not, we and the world are just as well off either way. 

Then why is Africa so poor?  Could it be that they lack the above mentioned corporations that exist in America, Japan, and Europe?

When the 360 first came out, I was not interested at all because the original Xbox was all about Halo. I'm not that big into FPSs. I got the PS3 because I assumed that more jRPGs would be on it. As the 360 had more jRPG announcements I bought that also. I have both consoles and I'm happy with that.

I got a ps1,ps2,ps3, so if you could guess it. I'm soon going  to buy a Wii. I like playstation because some of the exclusives which I love. Examples are Jak, Motorstorm, God of war, etc...I never in my mind thought as the blue ray of been the reason I bought a ps3. But what I really want to see is Sega coming back with a console...I have nothing against microsoft other then going through 3 360s...Which made me go back to playstation.

i prefer PS3, it has lost of games i like and i had a PS1, PS2 and i have a PSP. its all about personal prefernce really.
