heise.de usually a very good informed tech page posted that sony is making a new ps2 model for europe and india.

compared to the current slim model it should integrate the power supply and it should be another bit smaller with better looks. price should stay about same with the new model.

Still life in the PS2 and over 8 years old. First appeared in May 2000 (Japan launch) Amazing. 130 million PS2's sold worldwide and the amount is still ticking. Awesome news.

They would stop making it as soon as people stopped buying it. Sounds to me like its a system people still want and Sony is still giving it to them. I wish other companies still offered older products.

Yes, also to me it makes a lot more sense than a certain company trying to kill its most successful product to make room for the new version, but being forced to keep it alive to run on economic PC's that couldn't bear the weight of the elephantine newborn.
