Forums - Gaming - Why is LIVE considered better than PSN?

This is not a flame thread. I just want to get to the bottom of this. According to countless people on the forums, it appears PSN is "still" (and I use the quoted word loosely) not better or as good as LIVE.

Now, also according to the same people In-Game XMB/Dashboard, Custom Soundtracks, and Achievements/Trophies are included on the Xbox 360 regardless of LIVE subscription and so its not part of the membership incentives.

Based on that LOGIC, ... tell me exactly why LIVE is better than PSN and why you're very much happy to pay for it?

I'll listen to all of your replies, and don't argue any of it despite grievances, I just want to know all this hoop-la and tom foolery is about; because when i'm was on LIVE a couple months ago before I gave the 360 to my brother, I really didn't see the special, gold-ring of opportunity that came with it.

As of now; for me .. you are paying to play online with LIVE; as you are playing online for free with PSN.

I am sure you'll get some responses, but this topic was started (and closed I believe).

*anticipates flamefest and thread closed in 3, 2 ...*

We had a thread like this a week or so ago and pretty much all your questions should be answered. I would go look for it.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Have you seen how many games have trophy support and custom soundtrack support so far on the PS3? One and it's not a retail title.

Add to that the fact that you can cross-game invite on the 360, a huge library of downloadable games (much larger than PSN), achievements on all games, custom soundtracks on all games, voice messaging in-game and a much larger online community and you have your reason.

Because the only movie/television studio to sign up on PSN is Sony...
Because 90% of demos released on PSN are delayed or don't even make it
Because other then Sony exclusives, 0 beta's have been available to the PSN
Because Leo-J alone accounts for 120,000 of the supposed 10 millions PSN accounts.
Because Home is still just a promise and still hasn't been released
Because private "text" chating while playing games is retarded..
Because it took Sony 19 months for the basic blocks that MS has had for years

Because.. Because.. Because...

Perhaps you could just look at the tons of other threads that have been popping up lately about this. But these guys have said some good points too.

It basically has all of firmware 2.4 but had it all 5 years ago, and Sony is still having problems getting it to work

Well, the problems they are having with it are pretty common when rolling out something of this nature, but the main problem is that past games do not have compatibility with this stuff out of the box. I find that egregious.

I'd sacrifice my achievements for a year on live if it allowed me to buy one more game each year using psn.
