Atari 2600... I still have it and it still works and has been entertaining guests in my guest bedroom.
“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.”
Stephen Henry Roberts
My Sig says it, so even saying anything in this post is a little redundant, but mine was an Atari 7800. The NES was out of our price range, or something, and I had a friend with a 7800, so my mother got me one as well. My favorite games were Mario Bros and Asteriod. Yes, Asteroid. Oh, and One on One--the Dr. J and Larry Bird basketball game. My friend Dan and I played that all the time.
I also had an Intellivision, but I actually got that later. It was a hand me down, and even then I knew it kinda blew. But I still played it.
My consoles and the fates they suffered:
Atari 7800 (Sold), Intellivision (Thrown out), Gameboy (Lost), Super Nintendo (Stolen), Super Nintendo (2nd copy) (Thrown out by mother), Nintendo 64 (Still own), Super Nintendo (3rd copy) (Still own), Wii (Sold)
A more detailed history appears on my profile.
Atari 2600, i remember perfectly Asteroids, Pitfall, and others (including the all-time remembered E.T.)
