well more people have a PS2 so it is to be expected

PS2 is selling in the sweet (price) spot at the moment, so it will continue to do well here for at least another year. All the other consoles (including the Wii!) are quite expensive - even the Wii retails at $400AU.

We are generally about a year behind the US :(

(still no Paper Mario release.. or release date!).

I'm gonna vote that its taking so long to get to AU because of the translation... there is alot of text.

Wait, they speak english there. Maybe they just have to add in cultural language differences? Hahaha I could say some but I bet some aussies wouldn't be too happy....

Then again I live in Texas so maybe there could be a Texas version of every game so I could understand whats going on.

Recent consoles - DS (x3), GBA (x2), GC, Wii, PS2.

Also picked up an Xbox ($50), but never actually turned it on... (yes, that's correct!). Maybe one day - wouldn't mind playing Ninja Gaiden...

Own about 10-15 VC titles, and about 10 Wii titles (and almost 40 GC titles). I'm probably keeping Nintendo afloat here on my own ;)

That's funny, because I'm probably the other way around ;)

I quite enjoy Strikers - played almost 10hrs on the weekend - but can't wait for Paper Mario.

"Thousand Year Door" was my fav game of the last gen (hands down), and I have nothing but respect for Intelligent Systems. And I love platformers & Mario games - so can't wait.

Look, we (Aust & NZ) get completely screwed on games - and probably worst with Nintendo (hate to say it).

Its because we are a PAL region (even though 100% of the population has NTSC compatible TVs - and that's NO exaguration. All our TVs come from OS, where NTSC is the default. I think all TVs these days support all the common input formats anyway - and have for 10 years or so).

But - unlike Europe - we are a 100% English speaking (main language) country.

So not only do we have to wait for European conversions, we get games AFTER Europe as we are geographically on the other side of the world. And they are MORE expensive as a result!

So we get screwed once, twice... three times! (yaah! :< )

One of the reasons the DS is so cool, is that we can/do import American games all the time. Maybe 1/4 of my DS collection is from the US/imported. Not only do the games arrive sooner, they are about 25% cheaper (if not more - sometimes 50%!).

I just wish that one day, we get lumped in with the US - and we just have NTSC, US versions of everything delivered.

The irony is of course that most people run in 480p anyway - which isn't a PAL format at all (576p would be - but nothing supports that).
