You could easily argue so for certain genres, racing games are an excellent example of graphics adding to the gameplay - at least for realistic racing games - as it adds to the immersion. However for a cooking game it makes no difference whatsoever if it looks like it comes from the PS1 era because it's not meant to be like a real kitchen - which is really not as fun a place to be.

Really, I think you'll find surprisingly few Wii owners who agree with you that Cooking Mama needs better graphics and almost no Cooking Mama owners who think so.

I guess maybe you're right, but i still think it can't hurt to have some better edges or some better looking detail in some parts of the kitchen. But i'm sure the extra time will be used to add whatever fans want from this sort of game if its not graphics.

Bullshit... for a game like this the graphics only have to be functional, clean and perhaps nice art direction... having said that I think it looked much nicer when it was 2 dimensional.
