Forums - Sales - SCE Australia 35,000 PS3 Giveaway: Live countdown

Here's an interesting way to watch console sales, Sony are giving away 35,000 PS3s with Bravia TV purchases in Australia this month. New Bravia purchasers have to register online to receive the PS3, and there's a live countdown of how many are left:

Live PS3 Countdown

413 have been claimed so far today.

420 have been claimed,,,I m guessing ps3 sales number will be high in july in Austrailia.

This is interesting, I wonder how long it'll take for all 35k to be gone.

How much is a Bravia TV in Australia? Does it have to be a XBR or can it be a M series Bravia?

Didn't Sony already give away around 30k PS3s earlier this year?

I know some were given last Holiday season in America with a purchase of a Sony Bravia, I don't know if it was 30k but I wouldn't doubt it.

Makes it easy to count sales (assuming these are counted).

As in go buy us some coffee.

I mean in Australia and it was also in combination with a Bravia TV back then.

I might be wrong but I don't think ioi counted the Bravia bundles last Holiday season so I don't see why he would count these.

They took 70 percent of the HD TV market in January with that deal. Samsung have responded this time:

The promotion, details of which were reported last week on Current.com.au, has caused a stir in the CE world, with rival Samsung counter-punching today with their own free Foxtel HD+ set top box or BD1500 Blu-ray player promotion.

Some good deals for Australians who are after a HD TV/Blu-ray player combo this month.
