Not entirely on subject, but I just want to point out that we are currently not in a recession. We haven't even had one quarter of negative growth, let alone two. I just can't stand all the doomsday talk that goes along with the economy. Sure it's not that great, but it's also not that bad.

On Topic: I believe entertainment usually is recession proof as it serves as an escape to how horrible things are. Movies are said to be recession proof, I suppose video games could be.

Yeah I personaly never experienced a recession ( not old enough to remember one) and for all this talk of a recession over here in the UK it still apears to be pretty good , if this is a recession then I wouldn't mind one every other year. I guess it makes a good new story.

cool stuff

The hardcore would probably eat once a day to save for video game purchases. I fall into this category so I'm not insulting anyone

Back in college I faced this dilemma regularly: I'd eat ramen for a few weeks if that was the sacrifice that had to be made to get Lunar on SegaCD or Shadowrun on Genesis (amongst many, many others).
