Forums - Website Topics - Getting around Rich Text Reply when quoting and editing?

Is there a way to not use the Rich Text reply when quoting, editing, or making a new thread?  I really hate all the random formatting it does plus a few other things and I would much rather just use a normal text box and quote tags to do all that.

The problem is that the rich text editor is a bit too rich, and doesn't let you do certain things. Just look at all the quote bubbles, it isn't remotely obvious to people that you can narrow them down by clicking "remove column" or "remove row" to get rid of the inner quotes (instead you just see a bunch of blanked out boxes). Also, what if you want to quote multiple people in one post, or split up a quote into multiple boxes to reply to each part separately? It would be much easier to just slap some [quote] tags around text like every other message board.

The rich text editor will delete entire words for you if you hit backspace for slightly too long. It introduces spaces when it feels like it. It removes spaces when you finish deleting a word even if you didn't want it to. Refuses to let you move the cursor to the other side of a table if the table is placed at the end of your message and you didn't have any other characters after it.

You can't create your own html links with embedded images. I can't figure out how to quote easily. The list goes on.... But i just prefer placing the tags myself.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
