Usually off. Sunlight provides plenty of light during the day, and at night it's more relaxing with the lights off.

Though the lights will usually be on when playing MK or Wii Sports with other people.

I have a lamp behind me that I turn on to give me light. It's nice because it gives off a decent amount of light while staying dim, and not in my eyes.
