Forums - Nintendo - E3 08, Ninty's definitive/deciding event in this console war?

It seems some people here really don't understand what "first party" means. I specifically called Kyros out on his assertion that Nintendo's first party lineup was also the worst this gen. Titles like Mass Effect and Gears are not first party. Like I already stated "exclusive" =/= "first party".

Many of the titles you guys keep listing are simply published by Sony/MS. There's a reason I didn't list MP3 or SSBB above. Retro and Sora developed those games exclusively for Nintendo. Nintendo didn't make them. Just like Sony didn't make KZ2 (GG), MS didn't make Gears (Epic) or Halo (Bungie). If you're gonna bring in second parties that are owned by Sony/MS and published by them I could add a bunch to Nintendo's lineup as well.

Im not the one who talked about "which first party line-up is the best" etc

But, usually, we consider, for Sony, for example,

that GT (Polyphony digital), KZ (guerilla), Resistance (Insomniac)  are first party line-up games

I saw your point.

But I just wanted to say that the average guy (including me), will see these games as first paty line-up.

I feel that its like it, its the moment I think that will decide what console win the console war, yeah, the Wii wins in terms of sales but theres still the casuals falacy that still in gamer's minds. I think this is what Nintendo will do the blietzkreig tactic absorbing the core and casual gamer by announcing 1st and 3rd party games that both casuals and core gamers enjoy.

When SONY and MS will try to applease the casual market Nintendo just simply suprised attack and just do what they do best, announced games. During the last E3 theyre always discussing into casual and expanding market make it as a bore fest but now in this coming E3, I think they'll just announcing games no more stats, no more expanding audience gibberish, no more casual thing. Just announce games!

disagree i believe they will announce some games for hardcore and then spend time on casual more and make it more like a normal media circus like last year. Its like why impress or announce the hardcore game when all of us the hardcore gamers will read almost every press release? They dont need to spend the resources to inform us since we infom ourselves. Thats why they need to focus on the casual more.

Either you confuse me with someone else or you didn't read my reply. I never said that the first-party lineup of Nintendo is the weakest. (That would be Microsoft although they have awesome third-party support). I clarified that the current announced games (lineup for christmas) of Nintendo is the weakest of the three. So announcing some big games at E3 is a necessity.

Clearly you stated that Nintendo had the weakest first party lineup.  You even said "At the moment".

You later backpedaled and tried to pretend you meant future lineups (because who doesn't mean future lineups when they use the phrase "At the moment") and numerous people also pointed out how flawed it is to compare lineups when Nintendo announces titles closer to release.

Plus even if they announce 0 titles at E3 you still would be wrong to consider MS and Sony to have better 1st party lineups by using titles they didn't even develop.

Don't bother trying to argue more, just stop while you're only slightly behind.

Isn't the word line-up referring to titles announced but yet to be released?

Now if he said library it would be a different story.

LOL

1/ Wii sells a lot with or without multiplateform games

True

but what happens if all the internet reviewer decide to praise the Wii version and consider it is, finally, better one ?

I don't know, the wii's game lineup is more accessible and the motion controls are awesome for new gametypes, that can be enjoyed by anyone like Wii Sports. On the other hand it has bad graphics and its inferior online mode make it a worse choice for most of the big classic franchises I mentioned

Um, Retro is wholly owned by Nintendo and is thus a first party team. And Sora didn't make SSBB, GameArts did. Sora is barely a company, it's really just something Sakurai uses for contractual work.
