That's an illogical comparison , the market is entirley different now than how it was previously, each generation is a new race not an aggregate one.
Who blamed gta4? That's borderline idiocy to blame a large selling game on the low sales of a console. Pure stupidity.
That's like saying the 360 sold 100k less than last week because it had Halo 3 this week to bring it down.

Illogical comparison? Why? What's your explanation for the PS3 and 360 being adopted slower than the PS2 and Xbox?

Million, what difference this gen? The only difference is the Wii's casual gamers added to its core gamers. But, the 360 and Ps3 are being sold to practically the same customers who probably bought Ps2s, Xboxes, or Cubes.

maybe it,s because people look at all 3 and say the wii is the cheapest and buy that instead.

That's not different to the last gen, in which the Gamecube was also cheaper than the other consoles.
