The fact that PS3+360 are selling less than PS2+Xbox combined (on a per-region launch-aligned basis) means that their problems go farther than mass market adoption... Clearly, the Wii is stealing core gamers from the HD consoles. That's probably too complicated for some analysts to realize though.

That's an illogical comparison , the market is entirley different now than how it was previously, each generation is a new race not an aggregate one.

Illogical comparison? Why? What's your explanation for the PS3 and 360 being adopted slower than the PS2 and Xbox?
You talk about a difference in the market, so I ask... what's the difference which explains this observation?
