Forums - Sony Discussion - How much money does PS2 hardware and software make for Sony currently?

After taking into account all related costs (overhead, salaries, R&D, marketing, etc.) - how much does PS2 hardware and software make?

For software (average for 1st to 3rd party) - does $5 sound reasonable?  Should it be less or more?

For PS2 hardware - does $10 seem reasonable?  Less? More?

Remember, take into account not just manufacturing cost, but also all other costs.

i really wouldnt know but i rea;;y do hope they make more then 10 per unit after it being out since the stone age, how much does that system sell for

it sells for 130, i cant imagine them making less than 30 per system. im pretty sure software is between 5 and 10 (not just a guess).

the ps2 is essentially pure money for them. they do very little work and it brings in money.

my pillars of gaming: kh, naughty dog, insomniac, ssb, gow, ff

i officially boycott boycotts.  crap.

Do you really think it's $30?

Retail is 129.99? or 99.99?

But anyway, the retailer has to make some money as well.

I want to do some analysis for the whole game division - but with some consensus amounts for PS2 software and hardware.

Again, take into account not only actual production cost, but also all other costs.

$30 would seem VERY HIGH?
