Forums - Nintendo - Wii sales don't suffer too much Summer...

I predict this thread will grow to over 100 posts, simply because it has wii in the title.

Does it count if you account for most of them?  lol just teasing =)

@topic,

I don't know that the Wii will be immune to the summer sales lull once supply is met but as long as it is sold out it isn't really that surprising that it hasn't hit a summer lull.  It will be interesting to see if perhaps some of the regions that aren't selling out do see a sales lull and if the US becomes the beneficiary of some extra units as a result.

The Wii has no true tests left. What are you on?

It killed last July and August too. That's when it passed the 360 worldwide.

The last summer PS2 was still the queen of consoles, it averaged little more than 160000/week WW, during July and August, so for PS3 and XB360 doing better than this could be considered quite good.

After a less than 160000 during PS3 EU and others launch, Wii only had a minimum of little less than 190000 during Halo 3 launch, so selling better than this during July and August would be a good start, whatever Wii sells more will be even better. But let's put it simpler: if Wii sells more than both PS3 and XB360 (not their sum, this would be even excessive) during summer too, it's a very good result, it will keep or even better its absolute lead, and also the relative one if its market share during summer will be greater than the current 45.9%.

I have this feeling inside of me that the Wii will continue to sell over 300k units per week ww during the whole of summer.

Just a feeling.

Huh. Who would've thought that beggining anew in my real life would coincide with starting anew on vgchartz?

Any day now, the dollar will be worth less than 2 zloty......any day now.....and my life savings will be in total jepordy ;(.

Yeah.  The price of gas will be at all time highes in July.  Should be interesting... all 3 consoles will likely slow up more then expected.  Then again for Wii that all might be "maximium potential demand" in the US.

So it may still not effect sales numbers.  That's the problem really with judging whether wii is being effected by anything.
