I think that it would be highly unlikely that Gears Of War will come to the PS3. Gears Of War will be their next Halo series (except a lot better) on a commercial scale, and Microsfts pockets are deep enough to keep it an exclusive title. I would like to see it consist of at least 2 to 3 dual layers on the ther hand because it is true that the first Gears Of War was a little to short.

This narrows my speculation to 3 options:

1.) GeoW3 goes on PS3 for the sake of making a 50gb (or maybe at that point, 100gb) game on a Blu-Ray disc.

2.) Fanboyism and brand loyalty take over, keeping the franchise on 360. GeoW3, being only a 9gb game due to its extreme technical limits at that point in time, would get destroyed by competition.

3.) PS360 game. Everybody wins. Well, GeoW1 & Geow2 fans would be the losers because they lost their exclusivity, and they would get a massively gimped version (9gb < 50gb).

So basically, by the time Gears 3 comes out, the new X-Box better be ready so Microsoft can still stand a chance. But me, being a Sony fanboy, says, "Fuck you Micro$oft. And Epic, give me my Gears 3 while the damned 360 dies with no predecessor to leave behind."

Have you played Gears of War? The game is entirely linear and always forward progressing so if the game were to get too big to fit onto one DVD, they can just add a second one.

This game is going to stay with Microsoft because they are going to pay out their asses for it. Sony isn't going to pay much money for it because they already have enough AAA shooters to try and spread out.

On top of that, people thinking the next Xbox be out by 2010 aren't looking at how development is going these days. The hardware really is too advanced for developers make stuff out of these days. The PS3 is going to be selling for awhile to come, and there really isn't a reason to upgrade for at least another 5 years. What is an upgrade going to do? 1080p and FPS only matter so much, and these bigger projects take bigger teams which the current development process really can't handle.

At this rate the next console game is going to take 3-4 years minimum and cost millions of dollars. They will also have to learn the new hardware and somehow still make money off of their games. Its not going to happen in the next 2 years IMO.

Gears is going to be the center of the 360 lineup for 2 more years minimum before the next console is released. They don't have any other choice at this point.

Epic can put Gears 3 anywhere they want. MS can't do anything about it either unless they pony up some more dough.

 

 MS has first right of refusal.

You really think they will refuse the title so Epic can go publish it somewhere else?

Just like Gears 2, Resistance 2 is the first game turbo boosted and refined.

There were a bunch of pre E3 events where all this stuff was shown(Fallout 3 is awesome btw)

After two games exclusive on X360 it would be kind weird that the third one will be also on PS3..

This post = win.  I wonder how many PS3 fanboys actually do go and pick up those games for PC.  I'd be surprised if it's more than 20%
