Forums - Sales Discussion - NA sales up! X360 > Ps3

MGS4 bundles are currently averaging for anywhere between $100 to $200 over MSRP. $150-200 over on Amazon Marketplace, anywhere from $100-150 over on Ebay.

Average secondary market prices are always a better indicator of the true demand for a product, which is why until flipping Wiis on Ebay is no longer profitable can anyone say that manufacturing levels are matching demand. Never before.

There will be no 80gig boost next week. The reason is very simple. Many PS3 fanboys are purchasing the 80gig PS3 and in turn selling their old PS3s. Thus, the people who simply want a PS3 (those people who make up the 50,000 weekly purchasers) are simply going to purchase used PS3s, because they don't know or care about the 80gig system. The more 80gigs are on the market, the cheaper used PS3s are going to become. It may increase sales by 10,000, or it may decrease sales by 10,000. Who knows. But big boost? No way in hell.

Please tell me you don't really believe that

I'm not so sure this weeks sales will be any better since hardly any stores got em (the bundle) in. Basically, if the 360 price drop is true, Sony needs to have widespread availability with the bundle to remotely compete. That said, this weeks drop was pretty hefty, and I can't imagine it was because MGS4 was that frontloaded, so some people must be waiting for a bundle. I was expecting a little better, but not too much

Go to ebay right now and look up Metal Gear Bundle. You'll find it selling for 700 bucks.  I'm not saying the 80 gig will answer all problems but literally every potential ps3 owner and speculative 360 owners are NOT interested in 40 gig.  Facts of life.

Low PS3 sales due to lack of 80g....so there haters

lol, what if I said I saw 3 80gb MGS4 bundles in walmart, and over 10 at Best Buy down the street, collecting dust.

Of course, I didn't see that, but at least you would know how Wii owners feel when Wii's are going for 400 dollars on Ebay but every sony fanboy just saw 4 at his local walmart.

You can say "yeah right" all you want, but you can't disprove an anecdotal lie, which is why anecdotal evidence is pointless and should never be believed.

You already showed us in the other thread that the average selling price of the wii on ebay is $358.  And how are people Sony Fanboys when they see wii's at their local stores.  Many people in my wii thread had reported seeing wii's at local stores, and i don't remember seeing these "Sony fanboys" you talk about.  Someone even posted Pictures, and everyone was more then welcomed to ask for the phone numbers to the stores i listed.

lol! SDF is hilarious! VGC numbers aren't what you want them to be = "wait for NPD", when NPDs aren't what you want them to be = "NPD's wrong". I

I'm looking at eBay right now and the completed auctions show that the price is in the low $600 range for auctions that actually closed. Anything above $630 seems to go unsold except for some older auctions. I see lots of buy it now auctions for $599 + $25 ship.

So they are selling slight above list price, but not by that much. Maybe they were selling for higher a few days ago, I'm not sure. I'm guessing there was great demand with all the hype from the MGS4 launch, but as that hype fades so does the demand.

i just saw 4 bundles at my local gamestop earlier today. I was tempted to pick one up but didn't have the cash =(.

If you get pissed off at me saying "oo i found some" you will now know why Wii owners think it's ridiculous how when someone spots Wii's on shelves supply is fixed.

What? say that last line again, i didn't get it.
