why?in Italy for instance we know (gfk) that were shipped about 90k copies of mgs4...43k were sold in the 1st week: half of the copies still sitting on the shelves.

yup around the world everywhere they only sold half the shipment. okay that makes sense.

Even though reports of sell outs in under an hour in Japan and NA... but yup Italy sold half of stock so did the rest of the world

i was just showing you that having 35-40% of the copies still sitting on the shelves after 2 weeks is perfectly plausible...we had MS claiming 8M copies sold of Halo3 in January: so back then 1M copies were still sitting on the shelves (after 4 full months from its release and it took an additional 6 month for the game to sell that extra million...now i wouldn't be surprised if by september 2009 MS claims 9M copies sold) .

in the end what's the problem with 1.1-1.2M unsold after just 2 weeks? does it sound so unbelievable? they'll be wiped out in less than a month from now (100% guaranteed)...and in the mean time a 2nd shipment could be done

2008 year end sales (made in January 2008):

44.2 M 27.1 M 20.8 M

What's teh problem with 1.1-1.2M unsold after just 2 weeks?

Let's see... you only need 50k in Japan which still leaves 1.15 to NA and Europe which divide that in half 600k in those territories which is more than the launch week...

Also they said shipped more than 1mil in week one to Europe and 2 weeks we have it at 700k. 400k (Just as big as opening week sales) Of first week shipments are sitting on shelves after 2 weeks?

Great for MSG4.

^^ LoL MGS4 ooops!

again, what's the point? i find it harder to believe having 1M copies sitting on the shelves after 4 full months than having 1.2M after 2 weeks as, usually, after the initial shipment, any additional shipment is more and more fine-tuned. If we accepted 1M sitting on the shelves for Halo 3 4 months after its release (when shipment should have been more fine-tuned on the actual demand) i can't see why we should question 1-1.2M after 2 weeks for MGS4 .
